Originially published by GOOD, this infographic depicts how much we actually get from offshore drilling, compared to what we then use it on. It’s a striking comparison, considering the recent events in the Gulf Coast. Our global consumption is 23% of the total while transportation makes up for 71% of that number. What’s also interesting is the visual on who produces the most oil. We are near the bottom of that list, while the world’s #1 producer, the Middle East, isn’t even in the double digits of global consumption. We are the worlds 2nd largest consumer, using up more than Canada, Africa, Eurasia and South America combined. Click on the image below to see a high res version.
