by Adam Zoltowski

The infographic below, courtesy of informationisbeautiful.net, depicts the percentage of male and female memberships in online social networks. The results are surprisingly lopsided, as women dominate more than the majority of on social sites such as facebook, linkedin, and twitter. There have been several reports on this in the last month on this subject. One from socialtech.com claims that 75% of women use social media globally, compared t0 69% of men. A report from Yahoo! News claims its due to women’s more natural disposition towards innovation in communication than men. Whether this is the case or not, it does exemplify social medias ability to level the playing field.
