Maggie Anderson
Director, Rhode Island State Council on the Arts

ACM, 2009

ACM graduate of 2009 Maggie Anderson credits Pratt as the birthplace of her career. In particular the professors who are top people in their field gave Maggie the confidence that ACM would put her on the right track to her goals. As the Director of Arts in Education at the Rhode Island State Council on the Arts, Maggie is a resource to schools and districts for education policy, curriculum and instruction support while representing her state to national organizations that influence arts education policy.

Maggie’s latest program launched this year, the Teen Arts Assembly, a group of student leaders who collaborate with the Rhode Island State Council on the Arts to advise the Education Department on initiatives and youth involvement. The Assembly represents Arts Education and the creative sector at events throughout the State while developing creative skills, leadership experience, and opportunities for their peers to engage with the arts.

CATALYST

CATALYST | Leading Creative Enterprise is a platform for communication, applied research and exchange of the international graduate programs in creative enterprise leadership in Arts and Cultural Management (ACM) and Design Management (DM) at Pratt Institute, School of Art. In each issue, Catalyst focuses on creative enterprise. Each year we select a theme. Then, we search out the leaders, visionaries and entrepreneurs who embody that theme in practice. They are each leading as if life matters—creating economic value as they enrich our cultures, our lives, and our shared world.
