SEE: Evaluating design

What is the value of design? More importantly, how do we measure design ROI?

By Haris Silic

The latest SEE publication deals with measuring both micro and macro ROI in regard to design disciplines. From smaller companies, the industry itself and finally to the national economy, design investment needs to be measurable. This booklet provides an overview of current measurement practices, as well as framework for improvements. Additionally, it highlights the importance of measuring design within both private and public sectors.

The publication also provides case studies within each major level of measurement, which further demonstrates the practical implications of design evaluation. SEE booklets are critical tools for any design manager. However, the measurement of design is likely to be the most important weapon in the arsenal. Design’s strategic advantage is measurable, and SEE is sharing with us how to do it.

What is the SEE project?
Sharing Experience Europe (SEE) – Policy, Innovation & Design is a network of eleven organizations sharing knowledge and experience in order to develop new thinking, disseminate good practices and influence local, regional and national policies for design and innovation in their countries.
