Infographic: Wellbeing of America’s Children

For the current issue of CATALYST, we explored the theme of wellbeing on a more individual or personal level, and its interpretation as challenge, readiness, resilience and joy. The wellbeing of children is a gauge for the wellbeing of tomorrow, as they are the foundation of our communities, and epitomize these qualities. This is the first in a series of infographics on various indicators of the wellbeing of children in the US and around the world, such as health and, education. Something so elusive as the art of play, combined with other activities, has a profound impact on cognitive and social development. The infographic below shows the percentage of children in the US that participated in various after school activities, and the effects that these activities have on them. Click to see the larger version, and we hope you enjoy!
